Emmie was born in The Netherlands and came to Australia as a five year old. Initially her first job was in advertising and she then moved into art and graphic design and created posters for the Sydney Opera House. In the 60s she travelled by boat to Europe on a working holiday and on the return trip she joined the hippie trail to travel overland through Turkiye, Middle East, India, Nepal and Asia. She returned to Australia. Later on she studied fine art at Sydney College of The Arts. Emmie has been a professional artist now for 50 years and specializes in acrylics, watercolours and printmaking. She discovered the Languedoc region of France when she got stuck there during the COVID lockdown and spent 7 months exploring the micro world around Herepian. She looks forward to introducing this region to others during this art tour.
